ETCHINGS FESTIVAL 2010 GUEST COMPOSERS Ecce has partnered with the Virginia Center for Creative Arts to create an international festival for contemporary music. The emphasis of the festival is on the production of high quality performances of participant compositions. The festivals also serves as an open forum for discussion about new music, technique and aesthetics. It aims to offer a place for experimentation and taking risks, but also an opportunity to develop professionalism and craft. All festival participants will closely work with this year's guest composers, and have the opportunity to interact and receive additional lessons from the entire festival faculty. Those selected for Program 1 will have the option of either submitting an already written work for performance or composing a new work for the festival.
